Prayer request

What can I say about Jarrett. He is a loving, caring, focused, independent, curious, energetic, obsessive, scared, positive, sensitive, helpful, dependent, playful, outgoing, angelic, funny, active, sweet, adorable, excited, memorable, inquisitive, innocent, honest, creative, silly and adorable kid. He has had behavioral issues and has been evaluated by Heartspring and the Maize School District. He has been receiving services for a few months now. He is being visited once a week for an hour but they feel like he needs more. They want him to come to the preschool at Vermillion Primary several days a week so they can help him more. We will be attending a meeting tomorrow afternoon to discuss this with teachers and administrators at the school. Please pray that we do the right thing for Jarrett. Please pray that his needs will be met and for the teachers to have patience and grace while dealing with him.

I would like to thank Robyn and Kay for their advice and guidance through this. It is a whole new world and it is good to have guides. Thanks.

A day in Manhattan.

Sunday we drove up to Manhattan to visit Aunt Kay, Grandpa and Andy. Jackson and Jarrett liked playing the piano.
But soon it was nap time. I tried to rock Jackson to sleep. He wanted no part of it. Kay tried, but got nowhere. Matt tried and it just made him mad. Finally, Grandpa rocked Jackson to sleep. He is hired!Kay and Jackson at the piano again. Nothing like a little music on a Sunday afternoon to go with your football.Jarrett switched to the organ. I couldn't get it to work but he pushed enough buttons that he got it to play. Kay had a cool swing in the back yard. When Jarrett wasn't chasing Benji he was swinging.
Matt and Jackson liked to swing too. We went out to dinner before heading back home. We enjoyed visiting with Kay, Andy and Grandpa.
I couldn't help myself. I had to take a picture of the boys when we got home at about 11:00 pm. If I slept like that I would have a stiff neck for a week! They had so much fun that they were just pooped out.

Chris's football game and other updates

Last night Chris played football against Salina South High School. He recovered a fumble, helped to stop Salina from scoring 2 on an extra point and had several good tackles to help Maize defeat Salina 36 to 28 in overtime. It was a real good game and if we figure out how to get the video off my camera we will post it here. I don't have any pictures because the zoom on my camera doesn't zoom enough.

In other news, Jarrett went pee-pee in the potty this morning. For those who know how much we have struggled with Jarrett lately you know how big a deal that is. We are planning to take Jarrett to Aunt Kay so she can give us her opinion on his speech and if she thinks he needs therapy or not. Right now we have 2 opinions, Heartspring says yes and Maize said no. Jarrett has been moved to a new room at preschool so he can be with kids his own age despite his lack of potty training. He is doing better discipline wise but yesterday he pushed another kid and the other kid retaliated. Maybe that will make him think twice next time. Overall I think he is doing better. Once a week he is visited by someone from the Maize school district to help with "delays in social/emotional, behavioral and fine motor skills." Please say a prayer for us. It has been very stressful.

One other thing, I am trying to get blood allergy tests for Jarrett and Jackson. I know they are allergic to something we just aren't sure what. Skin tests were done on Jarrett in July but he was supposed to stay still for 20 minutes for the test to be good and you can just imagine how that went. That's all for now.
